I made it. I told myself while I was at church today to make sure I put a post in today.

I will admit, I have no idea what I am doing. I grew up on a farm and went to college. At first, I went to college for a science degree, but once I got real with my life, I ended up with an associate degree in accounting.

I love accounting. As a matter of fact, that is what I am starting to do now in my off times. Bookkeeping, to be precise. I feel like it is something I can do part time.

I like the idea of helping people who are not very comfortable with their finances. I recall reading a book during my college years. It was called something like money drunk, I can’t remember the exact title.

I remember one story that the author shared about a friend. She was not comfortable with money and never really knew how much money she had. She lived frugally because she did not take the time to examine the money she was earning and create a budget. If her friends had not helped her budget, she would have continued to scrimp and save what she thought were her meager earnings and would have missed out on doing things with her friend.

I have always thought that it is an admirable thing to do, helping someone get honest about their financial situation. But that is not a money-making opportunity; that is a friendship opportunity.
